LETTER FROM THE SELLERS:
Dear Potential Buyer,
When I was searching for our next house back in 2016, I was drawn to the beauty and convenience of Mukilteo. My husband and I had spent months driving around Everett and Mukilteo looking for home - all the places that looked great on paper just didn't feel right, so we continued looking.
While leaving yet another disappointing showing, we noticed signs for different house for sale, following them up the hill to this cottage. The first step inside, we instantly felt at-home!
We looked past the dated fixtures and enjoyed the nostalgic features of this 1980-built home that felt so much bigger from inside, with all the spaces of the home being both open and discreet from one another, a feature I've come to deeply appreciate in the eight years I've called this house "home".
We're leaving the house much more beautiful than we found it! We've put in solid oak hardwood flooring in place of carpeting, updated bathrooms, replaced air conditioning and the furnace, updated appliances, added thick baseboard trim, changed light fixtures, upgraded electrical, elegant paint inside and out, and custom cement floors stained to resemble low tide at Mukilteo Beach Park, and much more.
Mukilteo has been a phenomenal location for my family's health!
We have flourished with incredible like Klesick Farms, 3LP Foods, Sno-Isle Food Co-op, and Azure Standard for access to farm-fresh, local foods. The design of the kitchen supported my evolution from half-time home cook to from-scratch chef. The herb garden in the backyard, established by the previous owner, had me using rosemary in everything I could; and the hot water tap in the kitchen was a catalyst to becoming an amateur herbalist, falling in love forever with the French press for both coffee and tea.
Half my family took up rock climbing, with Vertical World minutes away. We've enjoyed local dance studios, yoga studios, the YMCA, and all the beautiful parks and trails between Edmonds, Mukilteo, and Everett.
Mukilteo schools are very well rated: Mukilteo Elementary featuring a one-of-a-kind outdoor classroom, and Olympic View Middle School's phenomenal music program, both walking distance, going past the Community Garden and Japanese Gulch Trailhead. This is a great location for homeschooling families, too, being an ideal jumping off point for exploring the mountains, getting on the water, or adventuring in the islands and peninsula - some of my children's favorite Exploring Days started with a ferry ride from Mukilteo!
My family already misses Brooklyn Brothers Pizza, and the views from Cabernets & IPAs just up from the Mukilteo Ferry landing will be missed. The community center offers phenomenal views, local art, and fun activities for children throughout the year, including Easter Egg Hunts, Trick-or-Treating and Christmas Tree Lighting, and endless summer events.
I will miss the incredible sunset views from the loft upstairs, how I could keep an eye on my children playing in the backyard from nearly every room, and family meals on the grass over summer. For a season, my husband and I set up the library wet bar as a coffee bar, where we would start the day reading together. The not-so-open-concept in this house went from flaw to feature the longer we lived here. Prior to our life changes, we envisioned adding a sunroom off the kitchen to enjoy the backyard even more, and to take advantage of the preexisting wiring to add a hot tub and sauna.
While it's time for my family to move on to our next chapter, we have left the house full of beauty, light, and love. We are deeply grateful for our time in this home, and the myriad ways we grew as a family - may you be as blessed as we have been!
All the best!
